Papayas are becoming more popular fruit everyday now. With the arrival of smaller Hawaiian papaya to America, it is now easier to buy and use because its size makes it more practical. In Colombia, our native papayas are the large ones believed to have come from Mexico. You can use either for this recipe; they work great with lime juice. Both kinds are great with lime juice. They create a delicious juice that is beautiful in color and flavor.
Ingredientes:
- 2 cups peeled, seeded, diced papaya(2 1-pound Hawaiian or ¼ of a large 6 pound papaya)
- 1 to 2 cups crushed ice
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Place the diced papaya in a blender with the lime juice, sugar, and 1 cup of ice.
- Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
- Add the second cup of ice if you want a lighter smoothie, or serve over crushed ice.
