One of the most interesting things you can make as a culinary person is salad dressing! Today I want to share how to make homemade Italian dressing. My dressing is a mixture of cream Italian, basic Italian, and my Latin mixture that I carry with myself.
Basically what I have is little bit of garlic with yellow onion, red pepper, a mixture of vinegar, water, and sometimes lime juice. Not in this one, but sometimes I do mix it with lime juice. We’ll also have olive oil and a variety of good herbs. Last but not least, my favorite ingredient – yogurt! I like using just plain yogurt, but depending on how thick I want the dressing, I might switch it up with something else.
I also want to share a special ingredient for this Italian dressing. It’s coffee syrup! Would you have guessed? Oh, it is amazing! But for those who don’t want coffee as a taste, you can use brown sugar instead. For coffee syrup, you’ll only need a tablespoon to get that genuine coffee taste. If you’re using just plain syrup, you can use just one teaspoon. Add that in with 1/4 cup of vinegar, salt, pepper, and garlic. Don’t worry if the garlic is a whole clove since you’re going to blend the mix anyway.
And now add the herbs: the oregano and cilantro. Put some yogurt in there too. Add the water in. After blending the minced pepper and minced onion, add 1/3 cup of olive oil. Blend again but now with all of the ingredients including 1/4 teaspoon of pepper and a tablespoon of onion.
You now have a beatiful homemade Italian salad dressing that you can also use for other things like chips and a roti sandwich.
